Privacy Policy

Effective August 15, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Campbell Ventures LLC ("Campbell Ventures," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, retains, and protects information when you use E.A.T (Eat and Track), including its mobile application, community features, widgets, and related services.

Our basic commitment: We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal information or HealthKit data for cross-app tracking or targeted advertising.

1. Information we collect

Account and profile information

We may collect your email address, username, authentication information, profile photo, and identifiers received from Apple or Google when you use social sign-in. Firebase Authentication, a Google service, processes sign-in credentials, authentication identifiers, email verification, secure session tokens, and password-recovery delivery. E.A.T does not receive or store readable passwords.

Nutrition and fitness profile

We collect information you provide such as sex used by the calorie equation, age, height, weight, target weight, activity level, fitness goal, dietary preferences, preferred cuisines, meal-plan preferences, and calculated calorie and macronutrient targets.

Food, meal, and AI information

We collect food logs, serving amounts, calories, macronutrients, meal categories, dates, barcode searches, meal descriptions, photos submitted for nutrition estimation, AI estimates, corrections, and meal-plan selections. AI nutrition results are estimates and are not medical advice.

Community content

If you use community features, we collect and display content you choose to publish, including recipes, photos, captions, hashtags, ingredients, directions, nutrition details, likes, comments, follower relationships, and profile information. Public content may be visible to other E.A.T users.

Purchases, notifications, and technical information

If you subscribe, we collect subscription product, status, renewal, cancellation, and expiration information associated with your E.A.T account. Apple processes payment details; E.A.T does not receive your full payment-card information. We may also collect push-notification tokens and limited technical information needed to deliver notifications, authenticate requests, protect the service, diagnose failures, and maintain performance. Infrastructure providers may process IP addresses and server logs as part of operating the service.

2. Apple Health and HealthKit

With your permission, E.A.T reads Active Energy Burned from Apple Health to show calories consumed versus calories burned. This HealthKit value is processed on your device and may be shared locally with the E.A.T widget through Apple’s app-group storage. E.A.T does not upload this HealthKit data to our backend, sell it, use it for advertising, or share it with data brokers. You can change Health permissions at any time in iOS Settings or the Health app.

2A. Optional AI data sharing with OpenAI

E.A.T offers optional AI-assisted nutrition estimates. Before E.A.T sends any personal meal data to the AI provider, the app displays a just-in-time permission prompt that identifies the recipient, explains the data and purpose, and asks you to choose Allow & Continue or Not now. Declining does not prevent you from using manual food logging, barcode lookup, or standard food search.

What is collected and how

Only when you deliberately use an AI feature, E.A.T collects the information you type or select in that feature. Depending on the feature, this can include a typed meal description; one selected meal photo for Quick Scan; two selected meal photos for Precision Scan; correction or refinement text; the current AI estimate being corrected; and up to 10 recent user-confirmed meal titles and nutrition breakdowns retrieved from your E.A.T food-log history. Photos are selected from the camera or photo library only after the relevant iOS permission is granted.

Who receives it and why

E.A.T transmits that information through our secured backend to OpenAI, L.L.C., which operates the third-party OpenAI API. OpenAI processes it to identify visible or described foods, estimate portions, calories and macronutrients, generate a meal title and breakdown, and revise an estimate when you provide a correction. The resulting estimate is returned to E.A.T for your review. E.A.T does not send your name, email address, username, profile photo, Apple Health or HealthKit data, precise location, contacts, or payment information to OpenAI for these requests.

Use, protection, and retention

Campbell Ventures does not permit OpenAI to use E.A.T API inputs or outputs for advertising. OpenAI states that API data is not used to train or improve its models by default unless the API customer explicitly opts in; Campbell Ventures has not opted in. OpenAI may retain API content in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days unless a longer period is required by law. Learn more in OpenAI's API data-controls documentation. We require service providers that process personal data on our behalf to use appropriate safeguards and provide the same or an equivalent level of privacy protection described in this policy and required by applicable law.

Your choice

Your permission is stored on your device. You can withdraw it at any time in E.A.T under Settings > Privacy & Safety > Share meal data with OpenAI. After withdrawal, E.A.T will not send new AI requests unless you affirmatively grant permission again. Withdrawal does not remove meal estimates already saved to your E.A.T account; you can delete individual food logs or delete your account in the app.

3. How we use information

4. When we share information

We share information only as needed to provide E.A.T, after obtaining permission where required, with service providers acting on our behalf, or when required by law. Depending on the feature you use, these providers may include:

Service providers may use information only to deliver their services to us and must protect it appropriately. We may also disclose information to comply with legal obligations, protect rights and safety, investigate fraud or abuse, or complete a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale subject to appropriate safeguards.

5. Public content and other users

Recipes, photos, captions, hashtags, comments, usernames, profile photos, follower information, and similar content you publish may be visible to other users. Do not post sensitive information you do not want others to see. Other users may save or capture public content outside our control. You must own or have permission to publish all User Content. Copyright owners can report suspected infringement in the app or follow the notice process in our Terms of Use. We may use report and account information to investigate claims, enforce our repeat-infringer policy, and comply with law.

6. Data retention and deletion

We retain account information while your account is active and as reasonably necessary to operate E.A.T, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary by data type. Public content may remain until you delete it or your account, subject to backups and legal requirements.

You may request access, correction, or deletion of your account and associated personal information by emailing info@campbellventures.org. Please send the request from the email associated with your account. We may need to verify your identity. Some information may be retained where required by law or for security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or legitimate recordkeeping purposes.

7. Your choices

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encrypted network connections and access controls. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

E.A.T is not directed to children under 13, and our onboarding requires users to be at least 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it as appropriate.

10. International processing

Information may be processed and stored in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate. Those locations may have data-protection laws different from those in your jurisdiction.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as E.A.T changes. We will post the revised policy here, update its effective date, and provide additional notice when required by law.
